Frequently asked questions
Is importing from New Zealand easier?
Generally yes. Trans-Tasman transfers are more straightforward than most, which makes NZ a good option for relocations and inherited firearms.
What do I need to provide?
At minimum, the appropriate state licence and the ability to obtain a valid Permit to Acquire. Category C firearms have extra requirements depending on your licence. We’ll confirm what applies to you.
Can I buy the firearm myself and have you import it?
You can, and we’ll organise the import. Export rules can be strict and some sellers won’t deal with international buyers, so it’s usually smoother if we handle the whole transaction.
